2009 Honda Civic LX-S 4dr Sedan (1.8L 4cyl 5M)
Review
My chief priority in my purchase this time was fuel economy. I was a little nervous going from my large sedan (Ford 500) to a smaller economy type car. After driving several makes and models, I decided to go with the Civic. I am not disappointed at all. I went with the LX-S because I liked the black interior and some of the extras it came with. The car handles great and the 4 cylinder has surprising power. The fuel economy is better than expected. 4 fill ups and I have been getting 30 + mpg with over 70% being city driving. The interior is very roomy even for my 6'3 frame. The car feels very solid and just a lot better quality then all the competition I looked at. New Honda convert.
Favorite Features
Love the dash displays, stylish exterior and the overall handling of the car. Can't be the mpg without spending a lot more for a hybrid
Suggested Improvements
Wish there was a trunk release on the remote and cup holders in the back. I kinda miss my outside temp gauge too but that is minor

Exceeding my expectations
Vehicle
2009 Honda Civic LX 4dr Sedan (1.8L 4cyl 5A)
Review
The build quality of the '09 LX is equal to my last C Class Mercedes and the reliability will be much better at half the price. This vehicle is a solid, comfortable, quiet fun car to drive. When I pause to think about what I paid for this wonderful car I just have to laugh. The LX is a wonderful value, while also being lots of fun to drive. I'm so happy that I bought this car and wonder others pay so much more for those "high priced" brands.
Favorite Features
Value, ride, quiet, fuel economy and most of all the reliability
Suggested Improvements
As is, this car is as close to perfection as I expect. I would not change a thing.

Freakin' Awesome!
Vehicle
2009 Honda Civic Hybrid 4dr Sedan (1.3L 4cyl gas/electric hybrid CVT)
Review
I test drove a 2008 model before the 2009, and the feel and acceleration is much smoother and noticeably more responsive in the 2009 vs. 2008. I did not want to rate reliability, as I have only had the car for a couple weeks now. But for the two weeks I will just say 10. The Civic Hybrid is rated better in crash test than the Prius, and gets comparable fuel economy. I truly believe the Honda Civic Hybrid is a far better value than any other small or mid-sized hybrid vehicle on the market.
Favorite Features
It's safe! Gas mileage is excellent. The built-in USB cable/connector in the middle armrest compartment is great! You can charge many devices from it, it keeps iPods out of the way and hidden from thieves. The car is loaded with features which you often expect in "luxury" class vehicle
Suggested Improvements
I get the impression that electric motor is often doing less than it is capable when assisting from a dead stop. Perhaps increasing power output to the electric motor when getting the vehicle moving from a dead stop would help. However, this will likely require a larger battery.

Great Little Car!
Vehicle
2009 Honda Civic EX 4dr Sedan (1.8L 4cyl 5A)
Review
I have been waiting about three months to purchase my new vehicle and I finally decided on a Civic. I had purchased a brand new one back in 2002 and this 2009 is by far a much nicer car, the visibility, comfort and build quality.
Favorite Features
Twin set dash, hard seats for my back, whisper quiet.
Suggested Improvements
Heated outside mirrors, VSA, and the ambient interior lighting that is available in the SI.

Civic Surprise
Vehicle
2009 Honda Civic EX-L 4dr Sedan w/Nav (1.8L 4cyl 5A)
Review
Over the last 15 years I have owned Audis, BMWs, Acuras and Mitsubishis. I have always been trying to find the right car for the small daily commutes and riding around town on small tasks. I always thought having a luxury car was the answer. I traded in my 2006 Acura TSX for the Civic. I was so surprised by this car. I have just enough creature comforts to get by but the ride is very surprising. The room inside is much bigger than I thought. Overall compared to all my other cars I have owned this is the right match for me. Love the gas mileage, comfort and overall use for this small sedan. As reviewed the Civic does have some road noise but it is no louder than an Acura and BMW is louder
Favorite Features
Love the navigation, Vehicle Assist, XM, gas mileage, smooth steering, Bluetooth and USB connection
Suggested Improvements
Trunk release button on trunk without using key, digital AC/heat controls, MPG indicator.

No remote trunk access on LX?
Vehicle
2009 Honda Civic LX-S 4dr Sedan (1.8L 4cyl 5A)
Review
I bought my Civic LX two weeks ago and am generally very pleased with it. BUT, I am disappointed that Honda has not entered the 21st century along with Saturn and other cars by providing remote trunk access with their Civic LX. The apparent reason: to provide a disincentive to buy the LX, and push you to buy an EX for $2000 more. So, if you have kids, if you shop and appreciate easy trunk access as you lug items to the car, buy another car. Is remote trunk access worth $2000? Not in my book. Next car will be a Toyota.
Favorite Features
Great style, quiet, responsive handling, nice interior. The quality is excellent, except for the lack of remote trunk access.
Suggested Improvements
Offer minor optional features, including navigation, Bluetooth, USB jack (these are basic features in new Ford Focus, Prius, and a growing number of cars). Definitely leave behind the ice-age mentality of pushing buyers into buying all-in-one EX models with moonroof (which few people need or want).

2009 Honda Civic EX-L 4dr Sedan (1.8L 4cyl 5A)

Bought this a week ago and love it! So much fun to drive. Heated leather seats are great in the cold the weather, love the one-touch sunroof. At first I wasn't sure about the split dash when I was shopping around, but after driving it it's so easy to get used and actually a lot better for checking your speed. Great on gas too.
Favorite Features
Heated leather seats, one-touch sunroof, aux/usb connections, great on gas, comfortable and spacious
Suggested Improvements
Power seats, automatic headlights

Have only had the car 2 weeks. LOVE IT. I have had Mercedes 300, a New Jaguar, Jeep, RX-8 and everything in between. I might be getting older, but this car is so much fun to drive and for the money, I am impressed!
Favorite Features
The looks from the back.
Suggested Improvements
Electric seats. Keys that FOLD into a holder on keyring. Folding mirrors on drivers side door and passenger door

Excellent choice

2009 Honda Civic EX-L 4dr Sedan (1.8L 4cyl 5A)
Review
In my opinion this is best value for the money car on the market. The fit and finish of the leather and the whole interior is top-notch, and clearly beats out the 2009 Corolla that I test drove. Both the Corolla and Civic are very close, but Honda has the edge in appearance inside and out, as well as build quality. The doors have a nice thud to it, almost like a luxury car, while the Corolla had a slight rattle every timed you closed the driver side door. It's those little things that made me give Honda my cash. Both Honda and Toyota are rated #1 and #2 in reliability so it's hard to go wrong...
Favorite Features
The dash looks great and refined. I was leery about the split dash, but actually I prefer it now, and it is very well designed and "ergonomic" if you can call it that.
